The hardest of times can bring out the best in people. It’s no secret that Rotorua tourism has taken a massive hit with Covid. In last year’s lockdown Mike Gallagher from Arista Group decided to take action.
There was a big push for New Zealanders to explore their own country. Mike knew lots of people booked online for their holidays and tourist attractions. He also knew most booking platforms took a big clip of the ticket. Not only did that really hurt local businesses, the money lined overseas pockets. So he decided to create a uniquely Rotorua tourism booking platform.
Come along to Rotorua X to hear all about his journey in setting up Rotorua Tourist Attractions to help local tourism businesses show the best of Rotorua.
** KIDS GET ARTHRITIS TOO **
We will also have 16-year-old Rotorua local twins India & Alicia Heron to share their journey of India being diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis five years ago and the impact it has had on her and on the whole family.
India’s hopes and dreams for the future are slightly different to what they used to be. But Arthritis NZ and Kids With Arthritis NZ have been instrumental in encouraging India to be the absolute best she can be.
India wants to support them to do this for other children around New Zealand who battle this painful and life altering disease.
To raise money India and Alicia are both shaving their heads. All money raised will be split equally between the two organisations.
